Wow, has it really been that long?

Geez, life really sneaks up on you when you aren't looking! I have been so busy at work lately that I haven't had much time to keep up with my online fun! I really need to get back on the ball and start scrapping and blogging again. Have some really cool jewelry I'm doing for a wedding and some other fun stuff I've done. Here are a few things I've been up to lately.

Best Birthday Weekend EVER!!

So, Monday was the BIG 3-0 for me! Eeek! Guy planned the best weekend for me. It started off on Friday with Busch Garden tickets that last all year then we ended up at St Pete Beach until Tuesday. The whole weekend was a total surprise and was beyond perfect. I will be posting pix soon and more details on all the fun. When I got to work this morning my very good friend Jennifer had this waiting for me! How sweet! ;) It was nice to come back to work and have this waiting on me. LOVE how the baloon says 30-ish! Hehehe!

I am really proud of myself, I have made some super cute jewelry lately. Pink is one of my favorite colors and I made this charm bracelet. I think I may need to add a few more beads to it.

I made the cutest bracelet yesterday! It's a charm bracelet and it also has a solid string of this really cool black color.

We have this cute little Shabby Chic store around the corner from my office and I found the cutest little necklace holders. I decided that I would use it to hold my ribbon instead of necklaces. I love them, they look so cute and they gave me a great idea on how to decorate my scrap room!

I think they are supposed to be Marilyn Monroe figurines.

I finally got back to beading! I am so happy I made myself sit down and start working on some pieces. I made a few to give away, including a few bracelets I am going to give to my secret Valentine on TS, I'll post those latter.

I made a really pretty necklace with blue and silver that I am probably going to use as a present for someone.

I also made a cute set for a very good friend of mine. She keeps joking that I need to make her something so I decided I would :) The necklace is made to hang long and the bracelet is half pearls and half charm bracelet.

I just watched the new President get sworn in and have a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

I have been doing a lot of scrapping lately, thought I'd share a few quickly. I have decided that I am not going to scrap another thing until I make at least one piece of jewelry, starting today :) ...we'll see how that goes!

Now, on a not so smart note, some friends of ours invited us on a boat ride Saturday. While we had a GREAT time, we FROZE our behinds off! It was so flipping cold, I don't know what we were thinking!

It's been pretty busy around here lately. Seems like we are always off visiting with friends and family or having guests over. I was able to get some scrappy time in this week. I used a really neat scrap pack my mother in law gave me to do this lay out of my hubby and one of his little brothers.

I hope to get back to my roots this week and get some jewelry made. It's been awhile since I have done any.

Well, I had a great Christmas. I got 4 purses, they are pretty cool. Guy doesn't care to much for that but I told him at least it wasn't shoes! I'll have to post some pictures of them later.

Tawna's wedding

So my little sister got married about 2 weeks ago. It was a beautiful wedding. I wanted to share some of the pictures of the rehearsal, don't have too many of the wedding yet.

I participated in a cyper crop this weekend. I actually wound up making about 6 or 7 layouts. I should probably think about how fast I crank them out and start slowing down. Maybe they'd come out better!

This one was for an I will survive challenge. I journaled about my OI and how it's affected my life and how awesome my husband has been to me.

This one was just for funzies. It was a bra challenge and I loved it! I am using it as a ribbon holder.

Here is a layout I did for my 12x12 of the boys from the cruise. I just love this photo of them so much. I think it is the only one with all 5 in it because we couldn't get them to sit still long enough more than once.
I really need to get back to beading. I made some jewelry for our Halloween costumes but not too much of anything else. I think once I get my mini's done for my friends I will try to divide my time a little better. A new bead store just opened a block from work so maybe that will help to get my beading mojo flowing again.

These are the last of the mini I made. Below are pictures of Amanda drawing fake butterfly tattoos on the men. Her husband has what we like to call "a tramp stamp" that looks like a butterfly. You gotta love a girl who is willing to go so far to make fun of her man!!!

We went to Carnival Cruise's private island. Below is the sign that welcomed us there. It was absolutely beautiful.

This is me going down an 80 foot slide. We literally played on this stupid slide for 4 hours. By the end of the day we were seeing who could do the most tricks. A few of us were even banned from it for going down head first.
We had such a blast on our cruise. I can't wait to go on another one!

These next 2 layouts are of us all goofing around at the beach. The first one the boys were picking up poor Amanda for a funny picture. I guess Jamie got bored and started making weird things with his tummy. I think he was trying to make it talk, I don't know.
This next one was really funny. Rosie asked us to bury her so we did. Then we thought it would be funny to lay on top of her and squish her. After that it kinda went down hill...
Here Guy, Jamie and Sean were hanging out. The boys later told me that they were having some weirdo contest to see who could make the most stupidest faces in the pictures. I am pretty sure Jamie won!

Here are some pictures from our cruise. This is our boat. It was Soveriegn of the Seas from Royal Carribean.

The Mustar Drill was kinda boring, I kept calling it the Mustard Drill. It made for a few good laughs! Bingo was the best! I won $500!!

While we where in the Bahamas we found a place that sold Cuban cigars. The boys all got one.

Walking down the street you get attacted by street vendors trying to sell you stuff. It was kinda neat to see all the locals and how they interacted with the tourists.

Halloween Mini

Here is a mini I made from a great Halloween. About two years ago I was invited to 2 separate parties. We went to both and had a blast! I was so proud of my angel wings, I bought a pair from Joannes but they weren't very fancy. I sewed a pink boa to the top of the wings then sewed in some glittery pink tulle between the white tulle that was already there. It came out so good!! Guy of course was this scary thing. The mask scared Daisy so much she cried when she saw it and wouldn't come near it for a week. She finally got her revenge after Halloween when Guy left it laying around and she chewed it up.

For some reason I've been scrapping all my old Halloween pictures lately. Probably b/c I know I'll have some new ones to scrap this year and I won't want to do the old ones after that. Here is a LO I did for a design team challenge at Treasured Scrapbooking. I do have to give credit to one of the design team members, Tracey. She did this fabulous stitched spider web with a spider dangling from it, it looked so cool I had to try it. I also have a very cute mini to share but I'll do that another day.

This year for Halloween we were invited to another killer party and we are going to be cave people. Mostly because I need to wear those fab white boots again. I am going to make us costumes with (hopefully) white cheetah print. It should be interesting.

Busy Month

September has been a very busy month for me. I took a really long vacation and I just got over a very bad bug. Hopefully October will be better for me and I'll be able to update more often. Birthday Card

I made a birthday card for my mother in law last night based on a sketch from treasured scrapbooking. I am very happy with it, I know she will really appreciate it also. She has had a bad month, she was in the hospital for 2 weeks and was on a ventilator for about 4 days. She is home now and her birthday is around the corner, so hopefully this card along with a gift certificate will put a little smile on her face.

My cruise is just a few days away! I am getting super excited! I still need to find a pair of shoes to go with my dress. I have a pair of red stilettos but my hubby says I will probably kill myself on a rocking boat if I wear them, I think he may be right!

I have a confession, I am a total blog lurkeraholic. Lately I have been stocking a blog called Much Ado About Nothing, done by a very creative friend. While I was lurking I found this neat little craft project to organize some of my stuff, so I gave it a whirl. It turned out sooooo awesome that I had to share!

I love this set! The necklace is awesome, the beads are kinda huge but it looks cool. The necklace only cost $1.50, bought the beads on clearance!

Made a new header

I made a new header for my blog, thanks to a challenge from TS. I'm not 100% in love with it yet. I tried to put things on it that capture who I am, for instance: the crown b/c I think I'm a princess, some scrappy stuff, lots of my favorite beaded pieces, an angel paper clip thing that I just like to make and a whole bunch of sparkly things. I'm going to keep it up for a few days then maybe change it a little. Who knows.

I printed out my online boarding pass for my cruise today! AAHHHH, I am so stinking excited. I hope it's nice and sunny on the cruise and I double hope that I don't get sea sick. That would blow (hahah).

Oh, I also got some new mufflers (?) put on my car today. It is louder now, not crazy loud though. My hubby was actually disappointed that it wasn't louder. I told him it's a girl car not a big truck and shouldn't be obnoxious.

I have the greatest friends. Here are a few things that my favorite scrapper brought to me yesterday. I couldn't believe all the great paper she gave me. I love all the pinks.
That clock paper is the best, my hubby even liked it. I can't wait to use those big alphas.
These are so elegant to me, I'm going to try and use them for some of my wedding pictures.
How unbelievable is that bird? The newspaper print one is pretty cool too.
I am so excited to start using all these goodies. These colors are the best! I love the stripes and the different patterns. Yay for me!!!

Back to beading

So, I have been a little consumed with scrapbooking lately so I've decided this weekend I need to find a balance. I made this necklace and bracelet awhile ago but I love it so much. I also thought it might inspire me to use some of my new stuff and start creating again.

This is one of my favorite bracelets. It really sparkles and catches the light. For some reason I really care for danglely jewelery.

This is just a close up of the set, it's kinda dark but you can see how it looks a little better. Hopefully with this three day weekend coming up I'll be able to scrap and bead. I have a new dress for an upcoming cruise that needs a necklace.

This is a layout I did of me and my little sister. I was at her house helping her to plan her wedding. She makes the BEST margaritas ever! We were sitting on her bed arguing/discussing things she should do for her wedding and my hubby started snapping pictures. It was funny b/c at first I didn't even notice that he was taking pictures, we were deep in conversation about what kind of flowers should be in her centerpieces.

This is the cover of it. I had fun tracing the butterfly and cutting it out, then trying to make a smaller version of it so it would look right. I just really love the colors of this.

For some reason this is my favorite page from the mini. It might be the color, I really like how the green plays off the pink.

So, I entered a contest at Treasured Scrapbooking, I didn't make the cut but I am playing in the second chance game. I don't think I'm allowed to post it yet so go check out my gallery on their page. It's called "All My Love". When the contest is over I will post it here.

This is a picture of my sweet little puppy, back when she was sweet and little. We were at my inlaws and she was playing outside. Next thing I know she starts to swell up like crazy. Of course I freak out, call every vet in the book blah blah blah. Finally I get one (it was Saturday and they live 15 miles from "civilization") and he said to give her a benydryl. Anyway, she was fine. She looked so pitiful though, I just had to share.

Good Day

I had such a great day today. I came into work and my friend brought me a little present. It is always so great to get something unexpected. It really brightened my week! I can't wait to create something with it.

Then later in the day we went to this little boutique a few blocks down and found some great deals. When I was checking out I saw these cute little bead things the owner had made and she gave them to me! She said she knew I was so creative and could do something fabulous with them.
I love presents!

And, to top it all off I won the Grand Prize for Treasured Scrapbooking's Beach Cyber Crop!!!!! Yay me! I'll be sure to post pictures of all my goodies when they come in! I am so excited.

Been a busy beaver

So, I've been kinda busy lately. We went to the beach for a week then came back and had to catch up at work. I was able to scrap a lot (mostly thanks to a cyber crop at Treasured Scrapbooking). Anyway here are a few of my favs!

This is a challenge I did for "fruit" except I couldn't find a single picture of fruit and the only embellishment I could find was a cherry. Soooo, I was flipping through my pics and thought how perfect that would be.

This is my latest creation. I made it to go with a few black and white shirts. I used a new technique on this, it's a weird rope material that I threaded the beads onto and put knots between. It turned out great, I can't wait to wear it.

Instead of joining in on all the festivities today I went shopping then scrapped. I had a lot of fun, sometimes it's nice to just spend a day doing things for yourself.

This is a layout of my old mustang and my new one. I love my new car!

Here is one I did of my hubby. He is such a cutie in his uniform. I wanted to keep it simple, really focus on the picture...to be honest I knew he wouldn't like it if I put a lot of girly stuff on it.

Finally, this is a lay out of my grandpa. The picture is from my high school graduation. He was a great grandpa, I really miss him.

Bead Time

I am a girly girl and one of my favorite colors is pink. I have some pink and brown shirts so I made this set to go with them.

I love this bracelet. I really like my bracelets to stand out so I have been doing a lot of dangly ones lately. This one took forever to make because I used so many seed beads and they are kinda hard to work with. I think it was worth it though.

These are the earings. They are a little longer than I usualy wear but I like them anyway. They are surprisingly light. I hate when earing pull.

Here's the necklace. I love it. I get tons of complements on it. The center piece looked kind of boring on its own so I added some little beads to hang if front of it, dress it up a bit. The picture below is what it looks like hanging, I couldn't get it to come out any clearer. Looks like it might be time to buy a new camera.

Scrappy Day

I had a very busy day today. We woke up bright and early to scrub the house down for my in laws visit. They drove down to see the house and hang out for a little. While they were her I had my brother-in-laws help my hubby to move out some furniture so I was able to set up my scrapbook table. I scrapped a few layouts today.

This is one of my favorite pictures with Guy. I think I like it so much because he is actually smiling in it. He usually makes a weird smirk smile thing.

This is a picture of my Grandma, favorite cousin and myself at a wedding for another cousin. We had a blast. It's fun getting all dressed up and hanging out with family.

This picture was taken at a New Years Eve party. The very next picture is Guy hanging me upside down. So sweet.

All Dressed Up

I made this piece awhile ago but don't have many opportunities to wear it. It hangs really low and looks great against black. I like how the pearls dress it up a bit. I've noticed lately that instead of using pendants I have been making these little clusters of beads for the focal point.

Pure Badness

This is my little angel. She loves to climb...apparently she thinks she is a cat. Once I caught her climbing in one of our orange trees, she broke off a branch and drug it around the yard for days. So, here she is sleeping on top of our hot tub.

She finally notices me taking pictures of her.

As I yell at her to get down she decides to make herself more comfortable and lay back down. She is nuts! But I love her. Thank god my other ones are much better behaved!

The scrapbook bug has bitten me of late. Here are a few new ones.
This first one is a layout of my first dog ever! My mom was allergic to dogs when I was little so we never had one while I lived at the house-for some crazy reason she has like 4 now. Woody is my dog while the bad one is my husbands. I love the little picture on this layout because it is proof that he lets the dogs on the couch!

This one is of our little girl, Daisy. She is soooo bad! We got her when she was 5 weeks old and about 3 pounds. She is now over 2 years old and pushing 50 pounds! She is the lover of the two, she gives kisses and always want to be near us. She is kinda funny, she bayes at everything and she'll do it sitting down, laying down, in her kennel, sleeping...really just anytime the wind moves a blade of grass she goes nuts. I love her though!

Red and Black

I love to wear red and black. For some reason I am drawn to these colors in the store. Here is one of my favorite red necklaces. I love the big pendant, it's made of some weird material, almost plastic but not. I like that it's simple and sits nicely on my neck. With all the shirts I have I should probably try to make another red and black necklace but I just love this one so much I might not wear the new one!

I love to do charm bracelets or bangles. It seems most of my bracelets of late are either charm bracelets or bangles. The only down side to the charm bracelet is they are kinda noisy but at least I don't have to take them off when I type like I do with bangles. This bracelet took a little longer to make than usual because there is so much wire involved.

My first 12x12 layout

I have ventured from my normal comfort zone and have taken on the 12x12 layout. It was a lot harder to fill up the page. Hopefully I'll get used to it. I know eventually I will feel better about leaving open spaces.

The top layout has a picture from our prom in 1998. The other picture is us at our wedding in 2003. How cute are high school sweethearts?

The next layout is of a beach trip we took. I just really like the pictures from that day.

Home Improvement

We have finally decided to paint our master bedroom. We moved into our house over a year ago and have painted every room but it. My husband actually painted it while I was at work. He did a great job. He painted the walls different colors for me and had it all cleaned up by the time I got home. He's so great!

I plan on lining this curtain with some

green fabric to make it stand out.

He even painted the bathroom for me. It used to be a weird green color that kinda made the walls look dirty. Now it looks so fresh and clean. I love it!

Finaly Finished

So I finished my friends birthday present last night. I made her a necklace and bracelet to match this shirt. I found this charm at Michaels, it suites her perfectly. I tried to make it so it hangs in the middle of her chest. The back is kind of adjustable so she can make it longer or shorter if she chooses.

I love the bracelet, I have a few in this style. I absolutely love these colors, I might try to make another one for myself. When you wear it one side looks like a single bracelet and the other side looks like a charm bracelet.

Birthday Gifts

One of my very good friends has a birthday tomorrow. I bought her a very cute shirt that I plan on making a matching necklace and bracelet for and I already made her this set of bangles.

I love these bangles. I have 3 or 4 myself. They are so colorful and go with anything. I wear them with tanks and dressy clothes. They are also pretty easy to make. I think the hardest part is trying to decide what size to make them. I hope they fit her!

I love making jewelry to match new clothes. Even though I only have one shirt I can wear this with I love it.

This is the center piece I made for it. It's hard to find orange beads so I had to compromise. The bracelet is a lot of fun too. It's kind of a charm bracelet.

Whoo Hoo

My husband and I bought a new car yesterday! It's a 2008 Mustang GT! I freaking love it! The inside has red leather, it looks crazy fancy.

We've only had it for one day and it has already been washed twice and had window tint added. I predict 4 washes by this time next week!

Wooden beads and bangles

I really like the way wooden beads look, this is one of my favorite wooden pieces. Sometimes I like a more natural look so I don't use any metal, to close this I use a bead and a loop.

These are some bangles that I made to go with the necklace. I get a lot of compliments on these and my neighbor actually bought three of them for her daughters 19th birthday. The beads I used in the necklace were too small to put on the bracelet so I used the same string to tie them together.

I am working out balancing beading and scrapping. Today I made a pretty pink necklace that should look great with some of my "dress up" clothes. For some reason I can never settle on a pink necklace that I like. It seems like I have made tons of pink necklaces but I always end up changing it. Hopefully this one will look right when I finally get to wear it.

This is the bracelet I made to go with it. I really like charm bracelets right now. This one is kind of neat because the bracelet links are hearts. Super girlie!

Feeling creative today

My husband is working this weekend so I am forced to find things to keep me busy. Today I decided to scrapbook, something I used to really enjoy but haven't done lately. I am blessed to be friends with the world's greatest scrapbooker, she inspires me daily. In fact, this mini album I did today came from her. It felt great to get the creative juices flowing again. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to balance beading and scrapping!

The pictures I used were from a weekend trip we took with some friends to a beach in North FL. It was fabulous. It was kinda windy so we couldn't go in the water but we made up for it in other ways. We were able to relax and have some great conversations. There is nothing better than good friends, good food, good drinks and a beautiful beach.

Shopping for wedding stuff

Today I went to my sisters and we went in search of wedding stuff. She is getting married in November and has asked me to be her MOH. I am very excited! I've never been a MOH before and I have all kinds of grand plans. We bought some stuff from Michaels and IKEA to make center pieces. Her colors are Mocha, Espresso and Ivory, so we used coffee beans and clear rock things to fill in some vases. It looks beautiful with the tea candles lit.

Not my favorite but I sure do wear it a lot.

Charm bracelet

This is a piece I made a few months ago and wear all the time. It's a great FL piece because these are all colors that are seen a lot down here. The necklace hangs pretty low and looks great with solid tanks. I really like the ring but I haven't actually worn it yet, my Hubby makes fun of it.

My two little Angels. We have had the big one for seven years and the puppy for 2 years. They are sooo bad. The puppy eats everything! One day I looked out and saw her climbing an orange tree and she pulled out a huge branch and then proceded to eat it. Never a dull moment.
